Rail Cooling System Improvement

Rail cooling system should also affect the Rail Cannon and Heavy Rail Cannon. it is unfair for the seekers to not have this because the Altairian upgrade Laser Cooling System works on lasers and lances including the enhanced and solar variants meaning they have a damage boost to their turret, heavy and capital weapons while the seekers only have a boost to the turret and heavy weapons. the weapon that really matters is the capital weapon and we dont have a boost to strengthen its damage so please take this into consideration

To my knowledge, no Rail does not ignore anything.

Does Rail cannon ignore armor? Lance ignores and have extra range. Missile have extra range. Forced to use Scramblers on BC for Seeker leave you vulnerable with 2 slot left.
UEO gets BS 1 extra slot possible for shield and capital weapon. If my Bomber idea is add this would balance BS out(that would be different).
Rail Cannon and Gun doesn't seem to attack AC either. Loads of Bombers and Fighters puts Seeker in disadvantage twice.

n-armor = Extra Normal Armor, e-shield = old Energy shields and p-shield = new projectile based shields

Please also not that these ignore the bonuses provided by Military Rank and Ingenuity and are not tested to see if they are even remotely realistic. Also given I can field BCs with level 7 reinforce and all 3 standard armor mods on my decent ingenuity comms at 18k hp (my top is 20k+ somewhere), these values have no more bearing. It seems Ingenuity really jumps HP a lot when you compare it to these "raw" values. Further, this appears to seemingly put Rail Cannons at the distinct disadvantage but we cannot forget tactics works equally and may well counter to keep this information perhaps somewhat valid (ie it needs direct testing honestly).

From Kong:
Only top Capital weapons (no Torps).
Seeker with a BC at lev 10 reinf and all Armor Mods and a faction shield (dependent on Weapon considered):
Total Armor – 3912 or 3156 for Lance.
n-armor – 1680 or e/p-shield – 3360
5th mod spot whatever, just not faction shield.
Heavy Rail Cannon – 500 base, 800 with Scrams. Max dmg due to weakness: 1150-1360
Solar Lance – 500 base, 1k with tech. Max dmg due to weak: 1350-1700
Military Missile – 300 base, 900 with tech, 1080 w/ tech & targ. Max dmg due to weak: 1390-1836
Takes 6.99 HRC to blow one BC
Takes 6.52 SL to blow one BC
Takes 6.73 MM to blow one BC

Um, Ya they added a shield against normal weapon. Meta, Composite, and Energy Armor. Rail gun doesn't get extra range. Lance gets Range, ignore armor and increase damage. Rail weapons are considered as normal. Adding damage would be nice.
There should be a research for Flak Cannon and Cannon to increase the damage by 25% each lvl. As missile gets 20% increase damage each upgrade.  Something like Highly Explosive Materials Lvl 1.

There are damage improvements, but the rail damage is simply bigger than others.
But from the gamers point of view, there are different rules for each faction and some would be more confortable with the same rules for everyone.
Perhaps if developers could explain how such balance rules for each faction works, this would help.

All the other weapon systems have not only a damage improvement, but also a range improvement system as well. The only exceptions to this are the Gauss & rail guns & Flak guns. And the rail guns are already at a disadvantage when it comes to range. Flak guns are intended to be defensive against projectile weapons, so range is not so much of a big deal there..

So, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add a system that allows rail guns (Gauss would be nice but not necessary) to improve their range. Missile ranges, rocket/torpedo ranges, & lance/laser ranges can all be doubled by researching the correct system. Rail guns should also have a system that allows the range to be doubled at the max level  of 10 for the new system.

yeah and now they have shield for other weapons as well. i agree gencarter, they should affect rail cannon

ok at least give the rail weps a range increase upgrade
EDIT:i noticed tht lances also have an armor pierce upgrade really unfair for seekers >
