remove ranking by military xp/milit rank

- everyone in all games is oriented for making military xp only nothing else.
1st step was to remove the always chance of military packs from corsairs (was a good thing because the game has become a corsair game)
now we have an exploiting problem the one of the arena . :-P . thats all i say.

i recomend to return to the old ranking code or at least replace military ranking with the old battle ranking that of the curent army.
more army more expensense less income .... so u have to balance betwin your army and your income.

I agree to change the ranking system, perhaps to a more balanced thing, like Pyroboy said.
The rank should drive the gameplay intended by the developers.
So, active players should be ranked higher than others that are just farming once in a while.
As a war game, then those that makes more attacks or hold more trade posts, you know, have a better rank.

The bonus's for ranking should be removed.  All it does is make it so the top players are unstoppable.

    you might have something here, would allow for every game play yet still keep the original ranking system in place instead of "reinventing the wheel" so to speak.

I think that MXP should be accrued a number of different ways, here's some Ideas: total res generated by player divided by 5000 (or something) is given to the player in mxp every 24 hours example: "joe" has 5 colonies, and each one is generating 4k of all resources per day. 5 X 4k = 20k, / 5k = 4 MXP per day.
this is an example, numbers aren't to scale.
Gold income MXP: amount of gold per hour divided by 20k = MXP per day
battle XP: multiply difficulty level of node by 2 and give that many XP.  alternately, divide enemy (npc) force by 500 and give that many XP, minimum of 1.

if i remember correctly it was based on them one at a time but the total of these should be made into a ranking system where no matter how you play you could advance.  Ranking should be of benefit to every playstyle and not to just one type of play.  Many games in this genera do this, i did find it very odd that this one went to a total ranking of one style of play that left out many other styles.  In it's current state a pure economic or fleeter is totally left out in the rankings.  It's currently based off what a person can do to manipulate the system...

I think ranking should be based on a number of things - economy, military strength, and ships destroyed... Not just some silly military ranking based on mxp that doesn't really give any indication of skill other than being able to manipulate the system.  All that does is turn it into a race of who can get mxp in any way possible and doesn't actually make it anything but a farmville game.  The mxp ranking should be a bonus to the ranking if well balanced for all players.  Not the ONLY thing that indicates ranking.
