there is a downside to this whole merge thing. if gemini is the main server, lots of people on orion will probably stop playing the game, cos they lost their account. same thing vica versa. , U' k- g5 C+ tBut keep the gemini server anyway, more chances to update and players to build.
server merge should not mean anyone losing their accounts, should simply be all players highest acc unless stated otherwise is moved to a new server with a clear base, nothing held .. but then who knows when anything is ever so simple lol

If accounts get deleted, then a lot of players from whichever server will leave the game, probably never to return. I play on Orion, and I know that that's what I will do if my account is deleted.
Hey guys, it seems people are getting concerned about something that Barbily already addressed. If you have an account on both you need to create another account to keep the one being merged in and thus lost if there is already one there. They basically are saying we're voting to see which server gets default and thus doesn't have to worry about in game name concerns. Though the way Barbily words does beg the question of what happens if 2 different accounts are each using the same in game name on the different servers (or role as you call it). For instance, if say someone else on Orion is also using Navan for their in-game name, it would collide with my Kong account on Gemini. So I'd hope that either they give the server being merged in a chance to rename themselves if this happens, or a means to find out if it might potentially happen to them (ie maybe an in-game PM and/or an out of game email warning them of this).
this isn't about names...it takes a long time to build up...100 leaders...a long time to equip them...a long time to build up a few hundred thousand ships...it takes a long time...names?...phaw.

But if you read their post they aren't talking about killing off commanders or removing colonies/resources, they're just talking about merging the 2 servers together. The only stated problem is if you have an account on both servers, in which they give how to fix. The only thing they don't say that could be a problem and result in your fear coming to pass is if there is two people using the same in game name on the separate servers. The one being merged in would be screwed and loose their hard work if they aren't aware that someone has the same name.' g9 J! X* U% P- y' a+ G% U, @

So it does not matter which MAP survives, the problem is that all the gemini players will be suddenly inferior to ORION. Orion players are high tech if not max tech with massive resources and fleets. Gemini players are not even close.: p- @. w2 F& x; i' E* E6 x1 y

so bottom line, it's a bad idea to merge servers of such different maturities. If it were me, I'd declare an end-game solution for ORION (say 1 months time) or something and let there be a winner and start a new server (say Taurus) 8 X6 X$ G& u2 z % S' I. c) F, k, Q" D5 N+ NIf I could propose that accounts could track winners or scores from the closing server, then this could be used as an overall ranking system for the best players. A hall of fame on the SS website. Give prizes for the winning alliance, scores for top 50 players (say 500 for #1, declining to 1 point for #500) or something. that way you would encourage play on multiple servers
