An let me get something straight, the people of gemini server are afraid that, because we have started before them, worked hard to get our accounts where they are on Orion, and have received the fruits of our labor, that we should be forced to start over? I DON'T THINK SO, PAL! I'd be okay if my trade routes were dismembered, and my conquers were refreshed. I'd be fine if that were universal. What it sounds like to me, though, is that I lose all of my hard work, while Gemini keeps all of theirs. I don't want to have to make a sub account to play MY PRIMARY ACCOUNT. If anything, I want my primary account transfered. Either I keep my Orion accountt, or I walk away from Star Supremacy for good. And I won't be the only one, I can guarantee that. (I feel sorry for all of these Admins taking all this flak for their ideas.)
Honestly I think the simplest methods are the inactive one or more preferably what ATShields suggested on letting us choose. Then grant the suggested no-aggression times and bonuses to help everyone get settled in. % {6 {+ m' p# a0 o3 X: F \' }) V w: E9 |8 x7 r
While I've never been on Orion (Gemini was released like the day I started playing); however, I understand Tir's argument in terms of how things that were changed for Gemini do provide Orion with benefits that Gemini can't match. Also I don't recall him asking for Orion to be wiped of said benefits or power (maybe I missed it so feel free to point it out), but I'd like to think if they merged they would put everyone on the same footing, and since Gemini was "fixing" things, it might be Gemini's rules (assuming Orion wasn't changed) so to say that get used. / D" T7 @8 H; k6 g+ r! Z3 s- S; X; ^8 v
Anyway no matter how the merge goes through, Gemini's players have work to do trying to compete and that does provide some fun. Though I do hope they won't screw everyone over by causing Commanders and stuff to be lost. Further, I assume they'll insure name collisions are not a problem, seeing we get to choose our name in the server and it doesn't need to even be the same as the account name.

I would like to point out that orion has been around longer than gemini, so scrapping gemini is really nothing compared to scrapping orion. (Naturally I voted to keep Orion.)
I understand the process as this (assuming the main server is Gemini): ' N1 Y: R6 `' G- If a player has an account in Orion only, and Orion is merged, then that player gets their account from Orion transferred to Gemini Server: ^/ h, J6 ?$ N" {, T
- If a player has an account in Gemini only, and Orion is merged, then that player keeps their account in Gemini Server& \% u1 ^0 P& [4 a" m# n& _0 y4 m
- If a player has an account in both Gemini and Orion, then they will be playing their Gemini account. If they want to access their Orion account, they have to make an entirely new account, and ask support to transfer the account data over to this new account. 8 H2 l) w% m+ z0 i, X! CWould it not be easier for everyone if they just allowed us to choose which account gets switched over, so that they don’t have to transfer all this data this way and that. If they just ask us which account to keep, and then start a new server and dump everything in there, then everyone is transferred, and nobody can complain about them moving and someone else not moving.
If we have an account in both servers, but we only want the account in the server that's closing, would we be able to keep that account, and delete the one that would be connected to the account?
it has to be done before the merge .. Under your own advise barbily alot of us opened an account on there to check it out and havnt played since , even an hours inability to log in to a new server will disadvantage anyone." b7 [* m- \5 D% Z7 }

Seriously I don't care about those. I take MMMM's point. there are better ways to do it. # M6 s: u$ _3 T9 G: W- g0 |3 qIf we merge, then I have a very strong account on both servers either way - doesn't bother me ' i( Q, q/ R0 M6 Q' s6 ?# w" ?* Y
however it does effect those new to gemini who are new and building up - they may not like losing their ranks. + G; q4 |6 M8 D5 `. q 2 f6 y! y+ d K, `7 X# k3 w7 A, Hso don't mind what people say - i am old enough and ugly enough to not be bothered
